Pay It Forward Friday!

July Blogger Challenge– #12: Pay it forward, and share your favorite blogs.

I’m alerted every time a blog I follow on WordPress has been updated with a new post. I’ve also made sure to request an e-mail notification from the other blogs I follow. I try my best to read them all, and I’d like to share some of my favorites with you today. Maybe they’ll become your favorites, as well. Give it a looksie!

Forty Shades of Fitness– A lot of fitness-themed blog posts, from someone who, as she puts it, is dealing with “the trials and tribulations of reaching ultimate fitness on the road to 40”.

Mark Razon– He’s a personal trainer who has made it his mission to help women get into better shape. A must read for anyone who is looking for tips and pointers, or for some work out routines.

Bucket List Publications– A blog dedicated to those who love adventure! Read various posts from the blog developer (as well as guest blog posts from those who are livin’ on the edge) referencing sky diving, base jumping, trips to exotic locations, etc…. it’s got it all!

The Running Thriver– Read about a woman’s journey through a rough past, into a bright future. Throw in fitness, and you’ve got one hell of a motivational blog.

Me!!!– As she puts it: “Tales of a suburban mom who likes to talk about pop culture, books, Judaism, family, friendship and anything else that comes to mind.” I’ve worked with this writer now for over two years, as part of our weekly blog group, and as a guest blogger for her brain child, Chick Lit Central. It’s a great blog!

Froggie– The other piece to my blog group puzzle, Froggie is a very candid writer, expressing herself openly and honestly. If you check out her latest blog post, you’ll get to see a recipe for Apple (as in the logo from the Apple computers/ipods, etc.) Apple Pie.

Peace, Love, Teach– She shares her perspectives on life, and does it in a gentle, reflective manner. As she says in her “About Me” Section: “We truly learn about life through connecting with others and their experiences and I ‘m hoping that sharing my own experiences will somehow make a mark on your life.”


For today’s work out, I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (or as I affectionately refer to it as, the DREADMILL). On the days I run the shorter miles, I am trying to work in some strength training moves in order to get a well-rounded work out. Something as simple as sit ups/push ups/squats/lunges/stomach crunches will be a nice way to top off the cardio. Remember, exercise isn’t an all or nothing deal. Not everyone has large amounts of time to devote to a work out in one sitting. Break it up! While watching that television show, do some stomach crunches and push ups. While your children are playing at the park, you can always get some tricep dips accomplished, and do lunges around the play equipment. Something my toddler and I enjoy doing is bear crawling in our yard. We both get into an all fours position, and crawl around! It’s great fun, and it’s also a great work out! You do what you can with the time you’ve got, and it’s different for everyone. Don’t get discouraged, and have fun with whatever you decide to do!
